At first I exercised because I had to; later, there was a shift – to a stage where I really wanted to. I took part in a couple more competitions where I did not win nor finish at any top position, but you do not need a medal or an applause from the audience for a personal win; what is important is to be a winner for yourself. I wanted so much more from this sport. I wanted to understand it all and push it forward, to train and help others, to be able to advise about eating, and that is what I do these days and what I want to continue to do.
Today, I am still not satisfied with myself. The reason is not that I do not like myself, but that I want to keep moving forward. I learned to like my body and myself. I know that it is very important to feel amazing. It is not crucial whether your weight is 170 lb or 132 lb; if it does not affect your health, of course. What is essential is to feel healthy and comfortable, to love yourself and your body. To do something for yourself – it can be new eating habits, exercise or overall lifestyle.
The beginning is not only in healthy eating, but in the right eating. The next important thing is a correct exercise regime, so do begin with a personal trainer. What is essential – eating and exercise cannot exist one without another. To feel amazing and to be happy with your body is important. You do not need to look like everybody else, so do not compare yourself with them, we cannot all look the same. Be whoever you want to be. Look at yourself, your progress and goals and do everything to feel your own satisfaction. If you feel it, others will see it in you.
If you think that the role of exercise is only to make us slimmer, you are hugely mistaken. Sport and life are not only about being slim. The important things are your health, a balanced lifestyle; being fit and feeling good. Did you know, for example, that toning your muscles works against osteoporosis, it slows down aging of your cells and it helps you burn fat faster even at rest?
Beginnings are never simple. If you create a habit you will not want to stop. Allegedly, in order to form a habit you need to perform a particular activity for 21 days. So give it at least a try, 21 is no so much.
My personal exercise tip:
Choose a strenghtening activity at least 2-3 times per week and add a cardio or aerobic activity like running, Zumba or dancing at least twice per week.
My tip for a fantastic coffee:
COFFEE WITH COCONUT OIL
– Pour 90 °C (194 F) hot water over freshly ground coffee
– Pour the coffee into a blender and add a teaspoon of coconut oil (use oil that preserves the coconut taste!)
– Blend for a few seconds.
The taste of this coffee with foam is unbelievable. You simply have to try.
